GrevusAnjl This album has an entertaining knack for transporting you across the last few decades of music history. It feels strangely familiar, yet fresh at the same time. And Benny surprises us with fantastic vocals on a few tracks as well. For me personally, it’s the kind of album I would have worn out on vinyl, had I owned it in my youth. Favorite track: Found Footage of the Second Lost Mission to Titan.

Like aerosols in the air Benny Braun´s new 8-track album combines different musical elements - maybe even more than in his previous release 'The Unpredictable Sky'. Also included this time: more vocal tracks - all created in cooperation with lyricist Deliah Rill, Benny's girlfriend and partner in life.

Surprisingly the album starts with an 80ies-like (synth)pop-song called 'Break Out' that Benny actually wrote back in 1986. It was lying on a shelf all over the years until it came back to life with this album.

'Into The Night' is a bass-driven, quite danceable track about the magic of the night - followed by 'The Optimist', a trip-hop- and IDM-influenced tune with a strong melodic approach.

It goes on - and up to space - with the extended electronic prog-rock track 'Found Footage of the Second Lost Mission to Titan'.

'On The Run' is a dark and thoughtful piece about the incapacity of mankind facing the brink of the abyss.

With 'Birds' comes another rework from the past - an ambient- and triphop-influenced track which was originally released on Benny´s 1997 CD album 'Weltenretter'.

Untypical as well is the sound of 'Individualreise' (Individual Trip), that could be easily identified as a homage to certain german electronic music pioneers from around the late 70ies.

The album is completed with the song 'Ambivalent Farewell', a personal emotive track written shortly after the passing of a close one with whom Benny has had an ambivalent relationship.

About the artist:
Benny Braun is an electronic music artist and producer from Hamburg.
His varied music is not assigned to a specific genre but influenced by electronica, synth-pop, ambient, trip-hop, progressive rock and others.
Over decades Benny has worked with numerous bands and artists and also produced music for films. His own electronic music project has started in the mid 1990ies. Under his former pseudonym 'Ben Jamin' two 12'-singles on 'Kanzleramt Records' and the CD Album 'Weltenretter' have been released. After a several year hiatus he continued the project with the 2017 EP 'Gentle Ride Through Kuiper Belt' and the release of the album 'The Unpredictable Sky' in 2019 - which is now followed in 2021 by the album 'Aerosols'.
